About PBI EST annotation

Each PBI EST is annotated with the description of its top 5 Blast Hits against the Uniprot plants database and the Arabidopsis peptide database. Search terms entered above will return all EST that have that search term in any of their annotations.

Search Syntax

If only one word is entered then ESTs containing that word will be returned. Example. A search for malate will return all ESTs that contain the word malate in at least one of their annotations.

If multiple words are entered then ESTs containing all search terms will be returned. Example. A search for malate glutamate will return all ESTs that contain both the word malate and the word glutamate, even if they occur in different annotations.

To search for an exact phrase, enclose it in quotation marks. Example. A search for &lquot;malate synthase&rquot; will find ESTs that contain the phrase &lquot;malate synthase&rquot; in at least one annotation, but not ESTs that contain only the separate wordsmalate and synthase.
